The New Face of Search: State of Search 2015 - Rogue Marketing

Written by Rogue Marketing | Sep 28, 2015 9:00:55 AM

The 2015 State of Search conference is less than two months away. Now in its fourth year, State of Search is the premiere search marketing conference in the South, offering digital marketing expertise and insights to new and veteran digital marketers alike. And, given my role as VP of conferences for the Dallas/Fort Worth Search Engine Marketing Association (DFWSEM), State of Search is my 2015 baby this year (filling the shoes of Greg Gifford of Mark Barerra).

I’m proud and excited to share that our keynote speakers this year are

  • Rand Fishkin, Founder of Moz
Rand Fishkin likely needs no introduction, but here’s one just in case: he’s the “Wizard” (and co-founder and former CEO) of Moz and the co-founder of Inbound.org. He’s a sought-after speaker, prolific blogger, and co-author of two books on SEO.
  • Duane Forrester, Webmaster Outreach Sr. Product Manager at Bing
As webmaster outreach manager at Bing, as well as the author of two books about online marketing and conversion, Duane Forrester knows SEO best practices like the back of his hand.
  • Gary Illyes, Webmaster Trends Analyst at Google
International digital superstar Gary Illyes is a guru for issues from news-site search to web security. Who better to speak on mastering search and digital marketing than the guy who crafts algorithms for Google?
  • Mig Reyes, Designer at Basecamp
Design expert, co-president of Chicago’s AIGA chapter, and a veteran of awesome t-shirt company Threadless, Mig Reyes will get your digital marketing lookin’ sharp. Mig, who was also featured at MozCon 2015 in July, will be speaking on shaking up traditional design concepts—and traditional perceptions of a designer’s role.

With a lineup like that, you need to be at State of Search.

Each day will be jam-packed—in what we’re calling a “Texas-sized dose”—with insights from our keynote speakers and many other high-profile digital marketing leaders. (Additional speakers are signing on daily; see last year’s incredible presenters here.) Topics will include social media, paid media, SEO and local SEO, analytics, emerging trends, and new tactics for making the most of your marketing strategy.

Like our speakers, the conference itself is innovative, personal, and redefining the conference experience. I’m humbled when I hear that State of Search has been called “one of the best events of the year—a bucket list item.” And the caliber of the speakers has been hailed as “unprecedented.”

As Forrester puts it, “SoS has grown into an amazing event. It continues to show the way for other local SEM events and continues to inspire them. And where else can I righteously wear my boots, hats and belt buckle?”

It’ll take place at the Life in Deep Ellum cultural center in the heart of Dallas’s hip and artsy Deep Ellum neighborhood. Food truck catering, nearby gallery exhibits, and nightly cocktail networking events make State of Search a digital marketing conference like no other.

Check out the State of Search blog for speaker profiles, as well as some great suggestions of where to stay, where to eat, what to see, how to get around, and even how to convince your boss to send you to the conference.

Ready to join us? Register here. See you in Deep Ellum!
